Abounding with Christmas Joy at Dec 3 Tour of Homes & Wine Walk!
Spring Valley Retirement Community was abounding with Christmas joy at the December 3 Tour of Homes and Wine Walk. Guests and tenants were treated to a variety of Iowa wines, cheese and live music as Rev. Lyle Hansen played acoustic guitar while singing a variety of favorite Christmas songs.
The beautifully decorated atrium, complete with a 12-foot Christmas tree, was filled with friends, old and new, visiting and enjoying the night’s event with a glass of their favorite wine poured by volunteer, Lorrie Motsick. Seven tenants throughout the community greeted guests and showed off their decorated homes: Esther Richards, Zola Summerson, Dick Hanson, Nellie Davis, Gloria Heenan, Alice Hoffman and Jackie Spellman. A special treat of freshly baked cookies awaited guests in the billiards room thanks to activity director, Nikki Danzer.
Over 70 different nativity sets were on display throughout Spring Valley Retirement Community’s three levels. Guests were encouraged to guess the number of nativity sets as they entered their name in a drawing for a fantastic door prize.
Thank you to all our community guests, tenants and families, volunteers, staff, and all that donated or loaned us nativity sets. You helped make this a night of fun to remember and treasure. The Perry Lutheran Homes Family (Willis Campus & Spring Valley Campus) wishes you all a Merry Christmas and Blessed New Year!
