“St. Luke’s” Private Suites to Open May 2020
Perry Lutheran Homes’ St. Luke’s Private Suites are set to open in May 2020, and will accommodate individuals in need of short or long-term skilled care and rehabilitative therapy stays. With the transition and remodel from assisted living apartments to that of private suites, Perry Lutheran Homes is now able to offer more focused and specialized care and social programs at each campus.
St. Luke’s Private Suites have en suite bathrooms with shower, walk-in closet, large picture window, and an open living area. The suites feature a spacious studio layout and come fully furnished with a bed, recliner, side chair, dresser, nightstand, and mounted flat-screen TV. Other included amenities and features include complimentary cable and Wi-Fi, remodeled common living area and hall, accessible outdoor spaces to include courtyard and side patio, secure building access, emergency call system, housekeeping and laundry service, delicious meal options, inter-generational engagement, and more.
“When you choose to rehabilitate at Perry Lutheran Homes, or place a loved one in our care, we surround you with the whole spectrum of care to include your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing,” expresses Melissa Gannon, COO and Administrator of Perry Lutheran Homes. “From our specialized on-site therapy team offering physical, occupational, and speech-language pathology; to our staff, residents and daycare kiddos that become your extended family; to our weekly bible study and worship allowing your faith to flourish. You will feel the care, the compassion, and our Christian Caring Community.”
Following the tradition of naming special areas of care after the Jesus' Apostles, Perry Lutheran Homes chose St. Luke's as the name for this latest project. St. Luke, was an Evangelist, a writer of the Gospel, and a member of the medical profession.
“Perry Lutheran Homes has a rich tradition, of nearly 65 years, of serving people with the best of care and the love of Christ. In 2013 and again in 2015, innovative memory care communities were opened. This expanded our service to the community and allowed us the ability to provide more specialized care depending upon the stage of memory disease. These two, award-winning memory care communities opened under the banner of St. James and St. John, two disciples of Jesus who were also known as ‘Sons of Thunder.’ These are apt names for those who act out their confusion from Alzheimer's and other dementia in sometimes bold ways,” said Rev. Max Phillips, CEO of Perry Lutheran Homes. “Our legacy of unique and innovative care will open another chapter with St. Luke’s Private Suites at Willis campus. St. Luke was physician and caring healer; this name describes what will happen in our new care community as people come to be treated, healed, and either return home or continue living in the Perry Lutheran Homes continuum of care.”
A virtual open-house event is set to take place in May. More details will be made available as the completion date draws closer. In addition, a ribbon cutting and public open-house will take place when community members are able to congregate together and visit Perry Lutheran Homes.
