Perry Lutheran Homes and Acorns & Oaks receive Dallas County Foundation Grants

Perry Lutheran Homes’ Director of Philanthropy, Wanda Pritzel, along with Acorns & Oaks Christian Daycare Director Tammy Kratz and Site Supervisor Sandy Juergens, joined representatives from 34 other organizations to celebrate the many blessings to our community made possible through the Dallas County Foundation. The annual Grant Recipients dinner was held on April 30 at the Van Meter American Legion Post 403.

This year the Dallas County Foundation granted out $138,753 to non-profit organizations making a difference in Dallas County. We were happy to be selected and receive grants that will help our organizations make a difference for those we serve. Perry Lutheran Homes Willis campus received a grant for $778 to help purchase parallel bars and a bariatric mat that will be used in physical therapy treatment for those who need to increase their strength and stability. Acorns & Oaks christian daycare, a focal point of inter-generational living at Perry Lutheran Homes' Willis campus, received a grant for $1,115 to purchase a movable wall divider so that larger spaces can be divided, creating more dedicated space for different age groups of children and opening up more available space in the infant room.

We love being part of a community that is so dedicated to taking care of its citizens, including from the very young acorns to the very old (and wise) oaks! Thank you, Dallas County Foundation, for all that you do which makes Perry a wonderful place to live, raise a family and grow old! We appreciate you!
