Bock Family Foundation Grant Awarded to Perry Lutheran Homes Meals on Wheels

Perry Lutheran Homes Meals on Wheels is proud to be one of the latest recipients of a Bock Family Foundation Grant helping sustain and expand an essential source of nourishment and connection for local older adults.

On October 19, the Bock Family Foundation Inc., established in 2002 by the estates of Larry Bock and Barbara Bock, distributed $125,000 to 31 local grant recipients during a presentation at the Perry Public Library. The Bock Family Foundation awards grants to area nonprofit organizations two times per year - spring and fall. Since 2002, the Bock Family Foundation has awarded more than $3.2 million in grant funding.

Meals on Wheels received a $10,000 grant during the presentation to help fund program expansion and provide meals to additional residents of northern Dallas County, Iowa. About 85 percent of the 26,000 meals served by Perry Lutheran Homes Meals on Wheels are provided at low or no cost, a percentage that would not be possible without generous donations from individuals and organizations.

The program is available to adults age 60 or older, living in northern Dallas County, Iowa, who have difficulty grocery shopping or preparing meals. Each meal is nutritious, home-cooked, and delivered right to the door—providing not only nourishment but a caring check-in from a trusted local team.
