Perry Lutheran Homes staffer, Tonya Swank, has been named the 2022 Iowa Excellence in Leadership Award by LeadingAge Iowa.
The community of Perry continues to StepUp to join Perry Lutheran Homes to care for the most pressing needs of its elderly citizens. A recent example that demonstrates the heart this community has for its elderly residents is a gift of $3,000 given by Heather Bruce and her team at Osmundson Manufacturing. This gift will be used to provide and deliver daily hot meals to homebound elderly and disabled people in Perry and Northern Dallas County through Perry Lutheran Homes’ Meals on Wheels project.

The second, annual Run Through Time 5K fun run or walk is set to take place in Perry on Saturday, July 6 at 7PM in conjunction with other Perry, Iowa sesquicentennial celebration events. This run is presented by Perry Lutheran Homes and continues community-wide efforts to StepUp (Serve Together our Elderly in Perry) and take action to help our local elder citizens in need.
Local businesses, church groups, athletic groups, civic and social groups, families, and friends are encouraged to form teams and join in the fun. The Run Through Time
Perry
Lutheran Homes is looking for another 280 volunteers to reach the whopping
100,000 total meal packs complete mark on May 1, 2019. The meal packing event
will take place on Wednesday, May 1, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Perry
Lutheran Homes’ Willis Campus located at 2323 Willis Ave, Perry, IA. This year
will mark final year packaging another 30,000 meals in one day for a combined
four-year total of over 100,000 meal packs complete helping over 600,000 undernourished
people in need across the US and in third world countries.

First Residents Successfully Admitted into Jacmel Lutheran
Home by Perry Lutheran Homes Team
Perry, IA, January 21, 2019–
Despite challenging circumstances while in Haiti, the Perry Lutheran Homes and
Lutheran Family Service team, together with Ministry in Mission, were able to
open and admit the first residents into the Jacmel Lutheran Home in Jacmel,
Haiti January 9 – 16. The eldercare home was designed to provide care for ten
of Jacmel’s most vulnerable elders.
