Snowfall and Christmas Cheer Mark Spring Valley Tour of Homes & Wine Walk

A gentle snowfall set the scene as friends, families, and community members gathered for the Spring Valley Christmas Tour of Homes & Wine Walk on Thursday, December 11, at Spring Valley Retirement Community of Perry Lutheran Homes.

Spring Valley tenants graciously opened their homes and welcomed guests for the evening, serving as Tour of Homes hosts and sharing in the joy and hospitality of the season. Hosts included Wanda Miller, Pam Maher, Ken and Sue Finer, Nylene Hansen, Gloria Renshaw, Doris McCorkle, and Deaconess Grace Babbitts.

Guests toured festively decorated apartments and common spaces while enjoying live Christmas music by Randy “Doc” McCaulley. Wine and charcuterie were offered throughout the evening as guests visited with tenants and one another.

The event featured more than 10 full-size Christmas trees, each decorated with its own color palette and theme. Guests also sampled over a dozen varieties of wine and cheese, enjoyed sweet treats stationed throughout the building, and gathered in a bustling atrium filled with holiday cheer.

More than 100 nativity sets and scenes were displayed throughout the campus, highlighting the true meaning of the Christmas season — the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. The combined Christ Lutheran Church and Perry Lutheran Homes choir shared a selection of upbeat Christmas songs during the evening.

Perry Lutheran Homes extends its thanks to the Spring Valley tenants who served as Tour of Homes hosts, the Christ Lutheran Church choir, Randy “Doc” McCaulley, and the staff and volunteers who helped make the evening a success.
