Retired nurses from Perry and surrounding communities are invited to join Perry Lutheran Homes for “Cup of Care”, a special coffee gathering created to honor and celebrate those who dedicated their lives to caring for others.

The event will be held on Thursday, June 25 at 2:30 p.m. at the Eden Acres Campus of Perry Lutheran Homes, located at 1300 28th Street in Perry.

Guests will enjoy coffee, treats, conversation, and fellowship while reconnecting with fellow nurses and sharing stories from years spent serving residents, patients, families, and communities.

A gentle snowfall set the scene as friends, families, and community members gathered for the Spring Valley Christmas Tour of Homes & Wine Walk on Thursday, December 11, at Spring Valley Retirement Community of Perry Lutheran Homes.

Spring Valley tenants graciously opened their homes and welcomed guests for the evening, serving as Tour of Homes hosts and sharing in the joy and hospitality of the season. Hosts included Wanda Miller, Pam Maher, Ken and Sue Finer, Nylene Hansen, Gloria Renshaw, Doris McCorkle, and Deaconess Grace Babbitts.

Celebrate the joy of the Christmas season at the Spring Valley Christmas Tour of Homes & Wine Walk on Thursday, December 11, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM, hosted at Spring Valley Retirement Community, a Perry Lutheran Homes community.

Guests are invited to enjoy a festive evening filled with holiday cheer, including complimentary wine and charcuterie, live Christmas music with Doc McCaulley, tours of beautifully decorated apartments and common spaces, and opportunities to mingle with tenants and community members.

Thank you to our tenants — Doris McCorkle, Gloria Renshaw, Pam Maher and Nylene Hansen — for opening their beautifully decorated homes and welcoming visitors into their Christmas-themed apartments. Guests also enjoyed the festive charm of the new Spring Valley Sports Pub, the cozy Fireside Room, and the newly transformed respite apartment for short-stays with all-inclusive services, meals, and furnishings.

Perry Lutheran Homes welcomed 100 volunteers at the fourth, annual “Project Deliver the Love” event on Thursday, May 2. Volunteers transformed ordinary items into heartwarming goodie bags that were hand-delivered to spread joy and God’s love to 350 older adults in and surrounding Perry, Dallas County, and more. The cheerful bags were filled with fresh fruit, canned goods, sweet treats, handy snacks, handwritten notes of encouragement, prayer crosses crafted by Perry Lutheran Homes residents, a treat from Acorns & Oaks Christian Academy children, Portals of Prayer devotionals,

Perry Lutheran Homes, together with the help of volunteers and sponsors, will deliver warm greetings and deliveries of love to over 350 older adults through “Project Deliver the Love” on Thursday, May 2. This project will not only celebrate and spread love to 350 older adults in one day, but will raise funds for life-saving meal delivery to home-bound elders the entire year through.
